Sight Singing with Jamie for Youth Performers!

Have you ever been giving the music for a show and panicked at the thought of being asked to read it? Have you ever wondered what the director even means when she says to start singing at Measure 4 or go to the bridge? Do the little black thingies swim in front of your eyes as you try desperately to track where you are in a song using only the lyrics to guide you? Do you marvel that everyone else seems to know when to go up in pitch and when to go down?

We’ve all been there! Join Jamie Mountford (Music Director of Stepsisters, Wind in the WIllows, James and the Giant Peach Jr., Once on This Island Jr. and more) for a fun and effective class to learn how to sightread music once and for all!

Give yourself a break and give Jamie’s tried and true method a chance in this quick 4 session class. Learn how to find the right note and have confidence in your ability to navigate music for your next show with less stress and worry.

Classes run May 28th and 30th and June 4th and 6th from 3:15-5:00pm out at the PARC Studio. This workshop is for students in 4th grade and up.

$50 per student. Scholarships are available.

Minimum number of students for the class is four.
