The Life and Times of General George E. Pickett
Roche Harbor Resort
Mike Vouri (in the title role) and folksinger Michael Cohen return for their 17th year chronicling the life of Civil War General George E. Pickett.
Vouri, Chief of Interpretation at San Juan Island National Historical Park, takes his audience back to the late 1800s and introduces them to Pickett and the variety of events, both historic and tragic, that shaped the general’s life (including Pickett’s experience as commander of the U.S. forces on San Juan Island during the Pig War).
This year’s July performance will be dedicated to director Chris DeStaffany who passed away in February and had been with the show from its beginnings. “It won’t be the same without him,” said Vouri. “As much as me and Mike, Chris played a major role in shaping the play.”
